Summer Learning Opportunity: Women and War in the Book of Lamentations

For the first time, Mercaz is offering a summer learning opportunity for both men and women. Be a part of this wonderful program on July 16, 17 and 18 from 10 – 11:30 am in the Tuvin Library when Dr. Adele Berlin, Robert H. Smith Professor of Bible Emerita and former Director of the Meyerhoff Center for Jewish Studies at the University of Maryland College Park, presents Women and War in the Book of Lamentations. This three-day program will provide an in-depth study of the book of Lamentations emphasizing the portrayal of women, literally and metaphorically in the description of the siege and destruction of Jerusalem.

This program is an opportunity for women of all backgrounds and levels of observance to think creatively while learning about their Judaism.
