Dear Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School Family,
As much as we never thought this day would come, with mixed emotions, we wanted to share that Dr. Zipora Schorr will conclude her tenure as the Director of Education at the end of the 2024-2025 Academic Year. Dr. Schorr, whose unwavering dedication and leadership have been a cornerstone of our institution, will continue at Beth Tfiloh working under the new Head of School on Special Projects in the 2025-26 school year. In June 2026, Dr. Schorr will complete her astounding, indescribable 48 years of service to Beth Tifloh.
In preparation for this transition, the BT Board of Trustees has engaged a search firm,
DRG Search. DRG, a highly regarded executive recruiting firm, has extensive experience and successful track record working with Jewish day schools throughout the U.S. The Board will work with DRG to appoint a Search Committee in the upcoming months. The Board is committed to conducting an open, transparent and comprehensive search for Beth Tfiloh’s next Head of School. The Search Committee will be reaching out to members of the Beth Tfiloh family – parents, students, faculty, staff, alumni and their parents, donor and other supporters – to listen to your thoughts about the kind of leader Beth Tfiloh needs to guide us into the future. We look forward to collaborating with you in this process. DRG then will help identify the right candidates, who will spend time at school and with the Search Committee. More details about the search process will follow in the next couple of months. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Dodi at

Both Dr. Schorr and the School Board understand the importance of this transition, not only for the school's leadership, but also for our entire community. As such, the past eighteen months have been very intentionally focused on developing our Strategic Plan for the next decade at Beth Tfiloh. The Strategic Plan was developed in conjunction with extensive input from the community including parents, staff, students, alumni, donors, and led by a Strategic Planning Task Force, comprised of professional and lay leaders from our community, to ensure that our Strategic Plan is both ambitious and achievable. The insights coupled with the expertise of Mission and Data – our partners in strategic design, implementation and accountability – have been invaluable. After rigorous deliberation and feedback, the Board formally approved the Strategic Plan in May 2023. As we move ahead, the administration continues to collaborate closely with Mission and Data to implement the various goals outlined in the plan with substantive measurable short- and long-term outcomes. More details about our Strategic Plan and the implementation of the Strategic Plan will be shared in the coming weeks.
In moments of transition and strategic planning, it's the strength and unity of our community that will shepherd us towards success. We are grateful and appreciate the continued support and trust from our parents, faculty, staff, alumni, donors and supporters as we enter this exciting next chapter for Beth Tfiloh.
Respectfully,
Dodi Samuel '98, President, Board of Trustees
Dr. Zipora Schorr, Director of Education
