The Weiner Family Basketball Tournament

When Roz and Marvin Weiner approached Mrs. Zipora Schorr, BT’s director of education, about starting an annual basketball tournament back in 1987, only 12 of BT High School’s 40 students played for Warriors basketball – and they were all boys.

More than thirty years later, the Weiner Family Basketball Tournament, has grown into the premier Jewish high school basketball tournament. The tournament attracts teams from Jewish schools across North America, Canada and even Israel for an extended weekend of competitive basketball, a communal Shabbat experience and lifelong friendships.
