On a chilly and windy Tuesday afternoon, Beth Tfiloh Warriors Middle School baseball team prevailed in a thrilling 10-7 victory over Concordia Prep.
BT took a commanding 8-0 lead over 4 innings led by starter Mason H. '29 who went 4 innings, gave up 0 runs, hit an RBI single in the 1st, and pretty much struck out everyone.
BT scored a total of 10 runs on 4 hits and 8 walks, led by Sam K. '27 RBI single in the first to open the scoring. Sam also hit a double in the fifth and collected a save with an inning and 1/3 in relief to close out the game.
Jordan G. '27 added an RBI single in the first and also pitched an inning in relief.
Gabe H. '28 chipped in with 2/3 of an inning in relief and made the Play of the Game on defense with a double play in the 5th by catching a tough fly ball behind 2nd base and then throwing home to double up the runner tagging from third, where Justin Davidson (8th) applied a clean tag to end the inning!
Overall another great effort from the boys. This game really tested us at the end as Concordia battled back. We continue to improve in every facet of the game and they are working hard from start to finish while always maintaining a positive mind set.
I’m really proud of them for their effort, attitude, and team spirit.
Very grateful to everyone who came out to cheer for us today. Our first win of the season! Can’t wait to see all our fans at our next game at Friends School on Thursday!
